Disclaimer
The devices (whole, or the individual components) are intended for resale by the practitioners who comprise our customer base. These devices are intended to assist in optimizing biomechanical function. Because biomechanics should not be altered by someone with little to no knowledge, our customers are intended to be the healthcare practitioners dispensing the devices, and not the end user. All orthotic shells are heat moldable, and postable, however Sobel’s Custom Orthotic Systems, LLC sells them “as is” and any responsibility for altering those devices is borne by the practitioner.
Just the same as the practitioner is not able to determine a patient’s injury or ailment without a physical examination, and history being taken, our recommendations are based on what information we are given by the practitioner. Therefore, Sobel’s Custom Orthotic Systems, LLC. (SCOS), or employees thereof, cannot be held accountable for harm to the end user, if the patient(s) have not been assessed by SCOS staff. We are not physicians, and do not make diagnoses. All recommendations are made with the assumption that the practitioner has a diagnosis from a physician, understands biomechanics, has completed an in-depth history, physical exam, and ideally, a gait analysis. The products shown are for patients with common foot conditions that are not of a complex nature. For those patients with more complex foot issues, custom devices (available in our custom shop) or braces are a better choice. |
